Brittany and Chad
Six years on and I still can’t quite find the words to describe how incredible Jake was as our celebrant but here goes…
From the moment we stumbled across him in a story our wedding venue had shared, we just knew he was the one. We sent an enquiry and within minutes, Jake had replied with a personalized video message introducing himself — such a small gesture, but it made such a big impression. We met up shortly after, and although he encouraged us to meet with other celebrants, our minds were already made up. His warmth, wit, and that unmistakable “Jake vibe” had us hooked.
But what truly set Jake apart was how he carried us through one of the most difficult times in our lives. Just five days before our wedding, my dad passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. It was heartbreaking, and we honestly didn’t know how the day would unfold. Jake handled the situation with such empathy and grace — acknowledging the elephant in the room and giving everyone permission to feel both the sadness of loss and the joy of celebration. It was exactly what we all needed.
He brought light, humour, and genuine care to our ceremony, making it both deeply personal and full of heart. Even now, six years later, people still tell us how beautiful and authentic our ceremony was — and that’s all thanks to Jake.
Jake, you weren’t just our celebrant; you were our calm in the storm, our storyteller, and the reason our ceremony felt so “us.” We’ll never forget it.
