Dear Jake,
Words cannot express how grateful we are to you for the most perfect wedding ceremony!
When planning a wedding, there are so many things to consider. And the options are overwhelming, especially with the internet now. When you finally make a decision about something, you question it constantly, as you see more and more photos with even better options. It really makes it difficult - too many choices are just as bad as too few!
But there is one thing that I really appreciate now with the beauty of hindsight - the wedding ceremony is much more important than the reception. I know that sounds like a give-in, but all the bridal magazines and websites out there focus so much on having the perfect reception, with the perfect venue, entertainment, food, favours, and speeches all to be considered. I felt I focused about 90% on our reception and only 10% on our ceremony.
However, when my beautiful father walked me into that chapel on I was just so overwhelmed by love. There were beaming smiles everywhere, wishing us well, and seeing the look on Ben's face - that will stay with me for a lifetime. And that was really all because of you, Jake. You were the one calming Ben before I walked in. I know he really appreciated the prayer you said for him before the wedding started. You were also the one outside, welcoming me and calming me down when I arrived too, to help the anxiety leave so that I could focus on the love in the room.
The ceremony to me was perfect. I can't tell you how many people agree with me about that. I have had people compliment about what you said, how much it reminded them about their own vows and what it means to make them, and also about how great your delivery was too, especially how clear your voice was in that large room. Everyone was incredibly impressed by you. My Dad even said "you were an absolute find". And we couldn't have been more delighted with how the ceremony went.
I'm sad that I didn't get to say goodbye to you after the ceremony, I think I just got lost in the well wishes of guests. But, like you told me to, I held onto Ben's hand and didn't get separated. Just like us from now on :)
Thank you again, Jake, it was a truly beautiful moment and one that we will remember forever.
Warmest wishes,
Celia & Ben
